A review of the Logitech G302 Daedalus Prime Gaming Mouse and G440 Hard Gaming Mouse Pad

Today we’ve got a review on some gaming peripherals from Logitech! We’re going to be featuring the Logitech G302 Daedalus Prime MOBA Gaming Mouse & the Logitech G440 Hard Gaming Mouse Pad. Last March 20-22, 2015, I was able to go with the eSportsINQ team for media coverage of the Major All Stars Season 1 Dota 2 Tournament in Malaysia. One of their major sponsors was Logitech, and they had a booth that promoted the G302 Daedalus Prime Mouse as well as the G100S gaming keyboard. They had computers set-up so you could try the mouse & keyboard combo in a 1v1 Dota 2 matchup against a friend or random opponent. Their booth was pretty interesting and lots of promos and stickers were given out with purchases. The deal I got was too good to pass up. I was looking for a new mouse & pad for my gaming set-up at home anyway, so I snagged it on the last day of the event.

Mineski Portal Cebu!

For gamers here in Cebu, we’re probably already familiar with several internet cafe chains here in the Queen City. In recent times, they’ve all tried to step up their game in offering us an experience that is just more than playing on a computer. The over-all feel and ambience of the place and the other services they have such as computer gear, promos and food offerings all bode well to satisfying the gaming experience we all want.

Now, Mineski is another computer cafe chain that just opened Mineski Infinity in Talamban, which is in Rosedale building, very near USC-TC and UV, and had just recently expanded to open up another area for more computers. Now, it didn’t stop there, as the management decided to open Mineski Portal Cebu.

Mineski Portal Cebu is located at Unit 7 GQS Plaza, Banilad, Cebu City. For those of you unfamiliar, it’s actually the plaza right across Gaisano Country Mall. It’s in between UC Banilad and the Petron Station. It’s fronting the jeepney stop of 62B/C and 13B/C and it occupies the area where the former Red Moon restaurant used to be. So, just explore a bit, and you’ll eventually find it. It has a big tarpaulin displayed up top, you can’t miss it!

It’s open 24 hours of the day, and offers a variety of computer games such as Dota 2, LoL, HoN, SC 2, WC3 DotA with blazing internet speeds. It also has an off-theme in green as opposed to the yellow colored theme of Mineski Infinity. There’s a whole bevy of games, whether it’s single-player, multi-player and online!

It’s 2 floors, and there are about 50-60 computers ready for gaming on the first floor. The interior is very clean, and neatly arranged in rows and columns per unit.

Now, here are the rates in Mineski Portal. For members, it’s PHP 15.00 per hour, and PHP 20.00 for non-members. To become a member, you just simply register at the front desk with a minimum top-up of PHP 90.00, which is consumable, and basically amounts to 6 hours when you get to log-in. It’s worth it to be a member, as you just have to load up 90 pesos, and that’s consumable when you log-in and you can use the remaining balance for your next subsequent visits. It beats having to pay 20 pesos per hour everytime you come, and you won’t even be a registered member.

Added bonus! If you’re a member, you also get free play whole day on your birthday. Can you say SULIT GAMING?

A little tip, it’s Mineski’s little policy that you can’t register with the username that starts with the ‘M’ so keep that in mind!

Mineski also has these night promos, spanning from 8 PM to 6 AM. Instead of logging in to your account, you pay up front. This is basically what you pay for:

  • P25 for 2 hours = PHP 12.5 / hr
  • P40 for 4 hours = PHP 10 / hr
  • P70 for 8 hours = PHP 8.75 / hr
  • P100 for 12 hours = PHP 8.33 / hr

So for those of you who plan on staying overnight for an overtime on gaming, definitely take advantage of these promos!

For the food lovers out there, there’s even a whole day promo wherein you pay PHP 59.00 and you get 3 hours of computer usage and pancit canton! It’s called the Sulit Promo! Everyone loves pancit canton! Add-ons include paying 10 pesos for coffee or 8 pesos for egg on top of your pancit canton. Rapsi! Gaming + food = winning combo!

The friendly front desk will help you load up and register for your accounts, and is also responsible for your food and drinks! So if you do need some quick refreshment, refer to the menu above for the prices. Pampered in style, all while gaming!

You’ve got your basic set-up. A large screen (around 23 inches, not sure) BenQ monitor with crisp colors, a Genius keyboard and mouse, and a basic A4tech headset. I don’t know the computer rig specs, but it was very fast to start-up, and you can alt-tab seamlessly between Dota 2 and the browsers like Chrome. All in all, a fast and clean experience! As for the internet speed, I was able to play Dota 2 with around 90 ping (which is very good already!) but as more people came around and it started to fill up and they were all playing online games, it went to around 150-200 ping. So do keep that in mind.

All in all, I was pretty happy with my over-all experience here in Mineski Portal Cebu. They’ve got a good area, good feel, good computer units and connection speed, and they have good services with their food and promos. If you’re a gamer and you love playing computer games, definitely check this place out! Rak na itu!
